Health workers in Kajo Keji County resume work

The Commissioner of Kajo Keji County of Central Equatoria State, Muki Batali, said that Health workers in the main hospital have resumed work after receiving two months delayed salaries. Batali said that an agreement was reached between the workers and the State Minister of Health to resume work as their salaries will be paid gradually.

Ministry of Health condemns acts of violence against non-striking doctors in Khartoum Hospital

The Federal Ministry of Health has condemned the beating and the use of violence against doctors at Khartoum hospital by their striking colleagues to force them to join the strike. Dr Kamal Abdelgadir, the ministry’s undersecretary, said in a press conference yesterday that the ministry is not affected by the medical registrars’ strike. Abdelgadir pointed out that all agreed arrangements with the medical doctors are being implemented with the formation of a joint committee headed by the State Minister of Health.

Dengue fever kills one person in the Red Sea State amid warnings of more cases

The Ministry of Health in the Red Sea State has announced that Dengue fever has killed one person in Port Sudan. Minister Al Sadig Al Malik reported more than 160 cases of dengue fever infections since last November, while the State's advisor Said Gibas told Miraya FM that medical surveillance of planes and ships that arrive at Port Sudan has become poorer than before.

2nd National Household Health Survey launches on Monday

The Second National Household Health Survey, launched on Monday, will attempt to gather sufficient comprehensive data to assist in Sudan's future health plans. Director General for Human Resource in the Ministry of Health, Dr Olivia Lomoro said the survey will be conducted across all 25 States of Sudan.
