GoSS Cabinet Ministers

silvaThe President of the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) Lt. General Salva Kiir Mayardit has on Monday June 21, issued a presidential decree in which he dissolved the old cabinet and appointed a new cabinet of ministers.

According to the decree, the structure of the government changes from 23 ministries to 32 with new ministries like the Ministry of Peace and CPA implementation and Ministries without portfolio.


President Kiir reappointed some ministers and also brought in some new faces like the Secretary General of the SPLM, Pagan Amum Okiech, who now becomes Minister of Peace and CPA Implementation and his deputy for Southern sector, Ann Itto who is now Minister of Cooperatives and Rural Development respectively.


The names of the appointed ministers will be presented to the Southern Sudan Assembly for endorsement.
