Rise in Malaria cases in Bantiu, Unity State

mosquitoThe rate of malaria cases has increased in Bentiu town, Unity State, within the recent period. Bentiu Teaching Hospital said that more than 600 malaria patients are admitted into the hospital on daily basis.

Speaking to Radio Miraya, the Director of Bentiu Hospital, Sabino Andrew Amum, said that the hospital is facing huge challenges in transporting medicine from Khartoum and Juba to the State. He further said that the hospital is also lacking qualified cadres. Sabino called on the citizens in the State and the local authorities to pay attention with their environmental health which is not only the responsibility of the health ministry.
