cow-milk-crpdThe UNMIS Indian Battalion's veterinary doctors and Jonglei State Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries have carried-out a free veterinary treatment camp for over five hundred domestic animals in Pibor village recently. The UNMIS Commander in Malakal, Col. Swesh Radha Krishnan, said that the one-day initiative aims to protect livestock from various diseases that are common in the area.

He added that the exercise gave an opportunity to increase the awareness of Community Animal Health Workers in Pibor about the prevalence, treatment and prevention of various endemic animal diseases. Krishnan noted that similar veterinary camps are planned for other areas.
