E-mail Print

africa-croppedThe 15th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) summit is starting Sunday in Kampala amid tight security after the suicide bombings two weeks ago. The three day function is held under the slogan: "Maternal, Infant, and Child Health and Development in Africa."

The Minister of Peace and CPA Implementation, Pagan Amum, heads the delegation of the Government of Southern Sudan to the AU meeting while the National Government did not disclose its representative.

The head of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping, said that the summit will call on the African leaders not to cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in arresting President Al Bashir.

Ping said that the ICC decision is complicating the peace process in Darfur.
