The United Nations African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) said that its helicopter that went missing two days ago, has safely returned to Nyala town. UNAMID Spokesperson Kamal Saiki told Radio Miraya that the flight cabin crew arrived in Nyala except a Russian pilot who remains missing.
He added that the mission is exerting efforts in collaboration with the Sudanese authorities to find the missing pilot.
Earlier, the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, said in his report on UNAMID that last May was the deadliest since the mission arrived in Darfur three years ago.
