The town of Shendi and a number of villages witnessed heavy rains and floods on Wednesday morning. The Commissioner of Shendi locality, Mirghani Ahmed Abdullah, told Radio Miraya that the water destroyed about one kilometer of Al-Tahadi road which has hampered movement along the road.

However, the commissioner did not mention any casualties due the rains.
