National Congress Party (NCP) has stuck to full border demarcation between North and South as a prerequisite for referendum on self-determination citing possibility of new war if South opts to secession and no clear borders are in place.
Absence of clear border between South and North would lead to fresh disputes and wars, ravaging all deals and commitments, Al-Zubair Ahmed Al-Hasan, a leading figure in NCP says.
The Government of southern Sudan (GoSS) representative, Riak Degol, told the London based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat in an interview made recently that the committee will keep doing office work, and engaging in discussions and will submit a report to presidency containing disagreement between North and South.
Degol said that 75% of demarcation issues are in dispute.
"According to technical estimates of the difficult terrain, the mission cannot be accomplished in accordance with the dates of the referendum" Degol told the newspaper.
