Jonglei state authorities have said that 7 of its counties have been affected by floods in the wake of continual rain. The state's chairman of the Relief Rehabilitation Commission, Gabriel Ajak, said the floods have destroyed crops, homes and schools.
Ajak further urged the humanitarian organizations to intervene and save victims from the fickle weather conditions of August. Meanwhile, Jonglei state legislative assembly appointed ten heads of committees to address issues of food insecurity in the state.
