World Bank delegation to arrive in Sudan on Tuesday

A high delegation from the World Bank headed by the Deputy Governor and the Director of African strategies is expected to arrive in Sudan on Tuesday. The visit, which includes Khartoum and Juba, will review the Multi-donors Activities Fund, which was established by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) to support war-affected areas in Sudan.

Bank of Sudan accuses GoSS of intervention in monetary policies

The governor of Sudan Central Bank, Sabir Mohammed Al Hassan, has accused the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) of intervention in the monetary policies of the bank of Southern Sudan. Sabir denied in a press conference on Tuesday in Khartoum that the statements of southern Sudan Minister of Finance related to transferring of the GoSS's oil revenues in local currency.

Authorities hand out seized pesticides to hospitals

The authorities have handed out pesticides seized by Customs for not completing formalities, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said. The Head of the Protection and Plants Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Khidir Jibril, said that the distributed pesticides are the Aerosols used for public health.

GoSS recovers 6 million pounds paid to ghost employees

The minister of Public Services in the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) Awut Deng said that the ministry has recovered six million Sudanese pounds from government pay roll system that was paid to ghost employees since 2007.

Britain donates 30 million dollars for food shortage in Sudan

The Deputy coordinator of World Food Program (WFP) in Southern Sudan, Alghassim Wurie, said that the program has received 30 million dollars for food Aid assistant from the British government to address the issues of food insecurity in the Sudan.
